Prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorder in sitting professionals

Background: Modern workplaces have shifted the nature of occupations from active to sedentary and promote lengthy sitting behaviour. It has been reported that people sit more than 8 hours per day. Musculoskeletal disorders are amongst main occupational health challenges in today's world exist numerous occupations. The objective present study is determine prevalence pattern MSD among professionals.Methods: was a cross sectional. inclusion criterion both male females working with desktop/ laptop for 4 daily past one year. sample size 100. Subjects who met exclusion criteria, informed consent obtained. participants were later instructed fill up questionnaire.Results: common work related during last 12 months based on their body location was; neck 45%, shoulders 5%, upper back 38%, wrist/hand 8%, lower 52%, knees 23% ankle/feet 4% respectively, where highest suffered region back. 7 days locations 32%, 13% 18% part neck.Conclusions: suggested there population long duration time, affecting low regions most.
